If you subscribe to the alerts, you'll be notified of upcoming events, changes due to weather, and/or out-of-the-ordinary happenings in school. Student Absences and Tardies
If your student is going to be absent from school, for any reason, please call the school office at 907-228-2203 to have them excused. After 10am if you have not excused your student's absence you will get an automated call informing you of their unexcused absence, this is to ensure the whereabouts of students is known.
If your student is tardy or is going to be tardy (arriving to school after 9am), please walk your student in or call the school office at 907-228-2203 to notify us. We will excuse their tardy and sign them up for a school lunch if needed. If your student arrives late and we do not hear from the adults, your student will be marked with an unexcused tardy.

School Meal Fees
We serve breakfast and lunch daily. Breakfast is served at 8:45-9:00am. Lunch for K-3rd grade is 12:00-12:30pm and lunch for 4th - 6th grade is 12:30-1:00pm. School lunch may be purchased for $3.60 (including milk); milk bought separately costs $0.60. School breakfast may be purchased for $1.25. Each student has his or her own lunch account linked to their powerschool account. Students/Parents may deposit lunch money into accounts by bringing/sending cash or checks to the office anytime during office hours of 8:00AM - 4:00PM Monday-Friday. You may use your parent portal to check their balance at anytime, and we will also send home balance reports. We offer a Free and Reduced Lunch Program funded through Title 1 grants. We encourage everyone to apply at the district website (www.schoolcafe.com/KGBSDfoodservice**) Eligibility is based on: **

**If a student is going to be late for school, but will need a school lunch, please notify the school office before 9:00 AM. School lunches are made and sent from the offsite district kitchen and must be ordered by 9:20AM. We cannot order extra lunches. If a child forgets to order a lunch or is late, we may not have an extra lunch to sell to him/her. **
