Mornings and afternoons the parking area at Fawn Mountain is very busy. When dropping off and picking up students, please either pull up curbside or walk your children through the lot to the sidewalk. Several instances of children darting into traffic have occurred. If you are a driver please be especially aware of children in the parking area. Thank you for your cooperation to keep all of the children safe.

Your student may be missing something....and it MIGHT be in Lost and Found! It will be weeded out and any clothing and accessories without identification on them by the weekend will be donated to Good Will. Please be sure to check the items hanging and in the bins at the front doors to see if something lost should be with your child!!!! Thank you
If your child is behind in reading or math, and you feel summer school would be of help, please contact your child's teacher. It will be held at Tongass School of Arts and Sciences July 24-August 17, Monday through Thursday. The Elizabeth Peratrovich Family Celebration Day on February 11th, hosted by Alaska Native Brotherhood and Sisterhood, began with the "Welcome Song" by Fawn Mountain preschool students. We are thrilled that Evon will be working with our students to become Professional Illustrators! Our students attended an assembly today to learn how Evon does her work as an artist and each student will have an opportunity to create an illustration with Evon's help in the coming weeks.

The Chief Petty Officers' Association presented Mr. Escalante a check from the proceeds of the Haunted Mansion this past October. The money will help Fawn Mountain students learn about growing one's own food in an environmentally friendly way. Many thanks to our friends at the Coast Guard Base Ketchikan. We are excited about our plans to build a greenhouse and we thank everyone for their support!
Breakfast is free for all students every day! Breakfast is served from 8:30 until 8:50 when school begins. If you would like to donate to our food closet, we welcome non-perishable (nut free) food items to serve. Thank you!
Our new math program has a free app that can be downloaded on a smart phone, iPAD or iPOD. The app is called "Bounce Pages." It downloads within seconds and has 3 easy steps for getting help. The app scans the homework page and then pulls up an instructional video. Go to the App Store and download it now for math help in the comfort of your own home!
