STAFF BIO'S

 

Dawn Shlaudeman is a Fawn Mountain Elementary School First Grade teacher.  Ms. Shlaudeman has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Early Reading and Literacy.  She attended college at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana and Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 

 

Ms. Shlaudeman enjoys quilting, cross-stitching, reading, walking and spending time with friends and family when she has spare time.

Bonnie Collins is a Second Grade teacher at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  She has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, with a major in Reading and a minor in Early Childhood Education.  She attended Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington.

 

In her spare time, Ms. Collins enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, reading and spending time outdoors.

Susan Gaffney is the Secretary at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  Ms. Gaffney enjoys gardening, refinishing old furniture and her dogs!

Barbara Roberts is the Principal at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  She has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education  and a Masters Degree in Administration.  She attended Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas and Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska.

 

In her spare time, Ms. Roberts enjoys quilting, yard work, reading and cooking.

Andria Moss is the Fourth Grade teacher at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  She has a Bachelor's of Education.  Ms. Moss attended Oregon State in Corvallis, Oregon and graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in Fairbanks, Alaska. 

In her spare time, Ms. Moss enjoys Suduko puzzles, word puzzles, crocheting, reading courtroom and medical mystery novels and sewing (when she can find the time).

Gwen Hammersland is the Fawn Mountain Elementary School Special Needs Pre-School teacher.  Ms. Hammersland has a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a Master's in Early Childhood Special Education.  She attended college at Mankato State in Mankato, Minnesota and the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.

Ms. Hammersland's hobbies include quilting, reading, music, walking, laughing and helping others to laugh!

Mr. Bob Hammer is the Physical Education teacher at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  Mr. Hammer has a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Southern Oregon State College in Ashland, Oregon.

Mr. Hammer's hobbies include basketball, hunting, fishing, camping and reading.

Celia R. Callagher teaches Second Grade at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  Mrs. Callagher has a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada, Reno and a Reading endorsement from Boise State University. 

Mrs. Callagher's hobbies include gardening, pottery, woodworking and remodeling.

Mary Ann Christensen is a Special Education Teacher at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  Mrs. Christensen holds a Bachelors in Elementary Education from San Diego State and a Master in Special Education from Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR.

Ms. Janae Thomas teaches First Grade at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  Ms. Thomas has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary  Education with an emphasis in health and English as a Second Language endorsement from Utah State University in Logan, UT.

Ms. Cecilia Chandler is a Speech Pathologist at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  Ms. Chandler has a Masters of Science in Speech Pathology from Arizona State University.

Ms. Adell Bruns is the Fawn Mountain Elementary School Librarian.  Ms. Bruns holds a Bachelor of Forest Science from the University of Washington, her teaching certification is in Secondary Math and Science from the Universtiy of Alaska, Fairbanks and he Library Media Specialist degree is from Montana State University.

Ms. Bruns enjoys playing bag pipes, knitting and spinning yarn, doing watercolor and reading.

Ms. Linda Horstman teaches Kindergarten at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  Ms. Horstman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education - Acoustically Impaired, from University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado.

Ms. Horstman is the #1 Alaskan Chicago Cubs fan!! Her hobbies also include reading, quilting, gardening, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Ms. Karen Malone is an Indian Education Pre-school teacher at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  Ms. Malone has a Bachelors Degree in English as well as Early Childhood teaching credentials.  She attended the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga and the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia.

Ms. Malone's hobbies include scrapbooking, cardmaking, puzzles, knitting reading and traveling.

Roxanne Abajian is the Reading Specialist at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  She earned her Bachelors in Elementary Education and a Bachelors of Science in Foreign Language (French) at Seattle University in Seattle, Washington.  Roxanne also has a minor in Language Arts and has completed graduate work in Early Childhood Education at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon.

Roxanne loves being a mom.  She likes cooking and big family dinners.  Roxanne loves to teach!  That is her primary hobby and passion.  Roxanne enjoys reading good books and has taken up watercolor painting.  In her early years in Ketchikan, Roxanne enjoyed being in several First City Players theater productions.  Currently, Roxanne spends her time keeping bears out of her car!

Mrs. Suzi Williams in an Indian Education teacher at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  She holds a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Alaska Methodist University (now Alaska Pacific University) in Anchorage, Alaska.

Ms. Tracy Hildebrandt is a Title I Reading teacher at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  Ms. Hildebrandt has an Associates of Arts degree from the University of Alaska Southeast.

In her free time, Ms. Hildebrandt enjoys walking and hiking.  She also spends time training her dog for search and rescue.

Ms. Tina Peckham is a Third Grade teacher at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  Ms. Peckham has a Bachelors Degree from Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington and her Elementary education degree from the University of Alaska in Juneau, Alaska.

Ms. Peckham enjoys spending time with her family, kayaking, hiking and reading Battle of the Book selections.

Ms. Kris Flora is a Title I Reading teacher at Fawn Mountain Elementary.  Ms. Flora has her Associates of Art Degree from the University of Alaska and is just one class short of having her Bachelors Degree.

Ms. Flora likes to take long walks, bake with her family, go to movies with friends and travel to new locations.

Ms. Beth Brandt-Erichsen is the Sixth Grade teacher at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.  Ms. Brandt-Erichsen holds a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Minor in Special Education from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.

In her free time, Ms. Brandt-Erichsen enjoys reading, writing and painting with watercolors.  She has participated in the Wearable Arts Show and other arts events.   The time she enjoys most is the time she spends with her family.

 

Jessie Embree is a Pre-School paraprofessional at Fawn Mountain Elementary School.

Jessie enjoys playing with her kids.  She also hikes, goes fishing and reads.  She likes spending time with her family and is a Christian Awana's leader.
