25/26 School Year Student Registration
25/26 School Year Registration Opens Monday March 24th at 10:00am!
To register your child for the 25/26 school year go to https://www.kgbsd.org/en-US/enroll-your-student-4772106e
*Please make sure you use the correct year portal. If the wrong year portal is used, the registration will be rejected and we will ask you to fill out a registration in the correct portal.
*Registrations will be processed and accepted on a first come first serve basis.
*Please have your child's birth certificate, shot records, and tribal information on hand to upload into the registration. A registration will not be accepted and processed until these items are received.
*FME will have 1 IEA Preschool class offered Monday through Friday for 4 hours & Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
*If your child is a current FME student remaining at FME for the 25/26 year a registration is not necessary.
*If your child is continuing on to 4th, 5th or 6th grade they will be automatically transferred to Houghtaling.
*If your child is continuing on to 7th grade they will be automatically transferred to Schoenbar.
*If your child attends Pt Higgins or Houghtaling, is going to be in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade, and you live south of Jefferson St, they will be automatically transferred to FME, registration is not necessary.
*All Pre-K students will need new registrations if they are moving schools.
*From March 24th until September 2nd, current students in grades K-12 that plan to attend a school other than the one they would naturally roll up to do not need to fill out a new student registration form. You will just notify the current school of your intent to transfer. The school staff will communicate to confirm availability and make the transfer happen.

School Meals ~ Fees ~ Free & Reduced Lunch Application
We serve breakfast and lunch daily. Breakfast is served at 8:45-9:00am.
Lunch for 4th - 6th grade is 12:00-12:30pm and lunch for K-3rd grade is 12:30-1:00pm.
School lunch may be purchased for $3.75 (including milk); milk bought separately costs $0.60. School breakfast may be purchased for $1.40.
Each student has his or her own lunch account linked to their powerschool account. Students/Parents may deposit lunch money into accounts by bringing/sending cash or checks to the office anytime during office hours of 8:00AM - 4:00PM Monday-Friday. You may also make online payments at https://payments.efundsforschools.com/v3/districts/56842/. You may use your parent portal to check their balance at anytime, and we will also send home balance reports.
We offer a Free and Reduced Lunch Program funded through Title 1 grants. We encourage everyone to apply at the district website (www.schoolcafe.com/KGBSDfoodservice**) Eligibility is based on: **

**If a student is going to be late for school, but will need a school lunch, please notify the school office before 9:00 AM. School lunches are made and sent from the offsite district kitchen and must be ordered by 9:20AM. We cannot order extra lunches. If a child forgets to order a lunch or is late, we may not have an extra lunch to sell to him/her. **

Student Absences & Tardies
If your student is going to be absent from school, for any reason, please call the school office at 907-228-2203 to have them excused. After 10am if you have not excused your student's absence you will get an automated call informing you of their unexcused absence, this is to ensure the whereabouts of students is known.
If your student is tardy or is going to be tardy (arriving to school after 9am), please walk your student in or call the school office at 907-228-2203 to notify us. We will excuse their tardy and sign them up for a school lunch if needed. If your student arrives late and we do not hear from the adults, your student will be marked with an unexcused tardy.
